Emilio Balli, founder of the Locarno Museum and intrepid traveler, was a key figure of culture in Canton Ticino at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The work of scholar Emilio Balli brings together local and universal concerns in a happy synthesis. Balli's descendants have preserved his collections and since 1997 they have been working to preserve his memory.
